37 teams have already registered for the Hannover Sevens Cup 2009 for youth teams which traditionally takes place on the friday before the Hannover Sevens in different venues around Hanover.

The first ever edition of the cup in 2008 saw more than 80 teams participate in all age grades and the tournament this year promises to be a huge success again. 37 registrations have already been received and more are being processed right now. Even teams from Ireland have showed their interest.

Overview of the current list of participating teams

Matches will take place in all age grades from U8s to U18s. The U8s will only play friendly matches while the U16s and U18s tournaments will double up as the German Sevens championships in these age grades.

The finals of the U16 and U18s will probably be played on Saturday in the AWD arena, just like last year. This is to be confirmed by the FIRA-AER first, though.

There are possibilities to sleep in tents in Hanover. Interested teams should contact the clubs in Hanover directly. Contact details can be found on the website of the lower saxony rugby union under clubs.
